Business Intelligence and Financial Reporting
Prepare GAAP based financial statements for the department. Work directly with contracted independent
auditors both on a program level and a statewide level. Provide guidance and oversight for the reporting of
a wide variety of complex statewide environmental liabilities. Provide guidance and leadership in the
financial information system operations. Perform grant financial analysis. Review requests for and prepare
adjustments to the accounting records. Train fiscal and DEP staff in specialized accounting and reporting
functions. Provide specialized services in various areas.
Accounts Payable
Processes all payment transactions and ensure prompt payment to vendors and employees. Maintain offical
record of payment in accordance with requirements of grants, audits, state and federal record retention
procedures and department-wide needs. Assist in state and federal audits.
Accounts Receivable
Prepare invoices and deposits payments. Maintain various internal and external databases, while providing
assistance. Retain files and records in accordance with requirements of federal and state agencies and
audits.
Budget and Grants Management
Provides all budgeting and grants management services to the program Divisions and Offices including:
Submission of annual appropriation requests, amendments, and revisions. Maintaining budgets in the state
financial system for 52 funds and 178 organizations,k provide management reports, insure maximization opf
investment earnings, monitor consolidated federal fund for cash position, prepare federal draws to pay
agency obligations, monitor grant status, prepare indirect rate proposals, prepare GAAP reporting for
federal funds.
Subgrants Management
Award, monitor, audit, maintain and close-out sub-grant awards to qualifying organizations.
